How May I Help You?

May I be the first to ask you this question as we begin the month of May, when spring has sprung and the snowbirds have flown and made traffic a little more bearable here in SWFL. That’s the question you’ll hear if you call one of our four Lee Health Medical Library locations or approach us at the front desk. We’re also eager to help if you reach out to us through our online chat service from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or email us at medlibrary@leehealth.org. You’ll find the staffed hours and phone number for each Medical Library location, our “Ask a Librarian” chat service, and many other resources offered on our website, library.leehealth.org. Of course, you already know our website address if you are reading this! 😊

Some useful resources which may help you in your quest for information are located at the very top of our home page next to our Lee Health Medical Library logo. To obtain an account which will allow you to check out books from any of our locations, click on “Library Account Request” and fill out and submit the form. Likewise, if you would like help with a literature search, click on “Request a Literature Search” and fill out and submit the linked form.

On the left side of the home page are some more links which may help you. Click on “Request an AHA Book” if you’d like to have an AHA book ready for pickup within a week at the location of your choice. To access our online resources and databases while working remotely, click on “OpenAthens Registration” to fill out and submit the form to register for an OpenAthens account. You may view a compilation of our research tools and resources to assist your research efforts if you click on “Research Tools.”

There are still more ways in which we may help you on the right side of our home page. Click on “New England Journal of Medicine” to view the most recent issue (or any previous issue) of the journal, as well as related multimedia material. You may click on “Standard Resources” to view a compilation of nursing resources used across the entire Lee Health System including links to available eBooks. Most online resources, unless noted, may be accessed remotely with an OpenAthens account. Click on “UpToDate” for evidence-based clinical decision support and medication information on a plethora of injuries, illnesses, and conditions.

May you have a wonderful month and may all of your research efforts go smoothly!
